My initial thoughts of the season are as follows.
Well we are off to another incredible, blistering pace. A solid 3-4 out of the gate with quality wins against the Clippers and Knicks. The Spurs game was a fluke and the rest of the games were vintage Jazz.
My "settle down James, the season is long and we always have a few hiccups" thoughts of the season.
We still have Deron Williams, who can lead a team to a 50 win season. We beat the Knicks in New York which we haven't done in 4 years. We beat the Spurs and scored over 100 points which hasn't happened this decade. CJ and Korver are both out, and with them any chance of us breaking the zone that people are playing against us. We have two promising rookies that look like they are willing to play hard within Sloan's offense. AK decided to get rid of his euro-hawk and go with the much more family friendly euro-swoop. (Aside- Personally I think AK has done this because he has grown up a little. He is saying, in a sense, I have a family now and am going to focus more on my career and play better basketball this season. So thank you for that! All I can say is Kirelenko YENGE!) And although it hasn't really shown as of yet, I do believe the team saying that they are focusing on the defensive side of the ball. Given, it's hard to play defense when the opponent is more athletic, quicker, taller, bigger, more handsome, funnier, married, musical, intuitive, well hydrated, a restauranteur, pet owner, and oh yeah did I mention MORE ATHLETIC.
Some much for the settling down, huh? Well, it doesn't matter. The reason I love the Jazz is because they are consistent. Albeit, consistently not good enough.
Prediction for the season.
47-35. Another disappointment in the long run. We will go to the playoffs and probably play the Spurs or Blazers in the first round and lose in 6 games. The silver lining in this season is that the Knicks are still going to be horrible and give us the rights to Ed Davis in next years draft.

The Jazz are now 7-7 and nothing I have seen so far dispels the, in my opinion, right on predictions you've made!
