Summer Blockbusters 2008

Well it is officially spring and the anticipation has thus started for summer time. At least for me, and that means...the summer movie blockbusters! As I have been watching trailers and seeing what shall be offered this summer, I can honesty say that it is going to be a wonderful summer at the movies. It doesn't matter if you want to laugh, scream, or just plain eat some popcorn this summer has multiple movies for multiple tastes. So without further explaination lets get into this years most anticipated (James McAllister's opinion) "Summer Blockbusters 2008"

1. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (May 22, 2008)

It is hard not to have this number one, because of the title and the fact that it is freakin INDIANA JONES. There is a tight lid on the film and not too many details have been released, which could be good or bad, awesome or suck. But I, for one, think that it shall be the good and awesome and rock the summer long. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367882/trailers-screenplay-E38174-314

2. The Dark Knight (July 18, 2008)

Not only is this the last on screen performance from the late H. Ledger, but it is going to be an action packed, edge of your seat, superhero movie. K Holmes is out and K Gyllenhall is in, but the rest of the cast from Batman Begins is intact. Just like Indiana Jones, the fact that this movie is about Batman gives it at least a top 5 billing on this list. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468569/trailers-me708114551

3. Get Smart (June 20, 2008)

A comedy in the top three, and this movie will be the funniest of the summer. Steve Carrell is still riding a wave that is producing comedy gold. Although he had a speedbump last year with Evan Al-floppy, this movie will be a rebound. I cannot remember the last time I laughed out loud at a trailer more than once, but this trailer got me three or four times. Alongside A Hathaway and D "The Rock" Johnson, S Carrell will provide a quotable summer for you and all your friends. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425061/trailers-me60843468

4. Step Brothers (July 25, 2008)

Another piece of comedy, starring W Ferrell and J C Reily, which has been done and is something we have seen. It will still provide some laugh out loud moments along with some quotes that will last the test of time. The W Ferrell market is slowly drying up but I will still go and see this movie with some type of anticipation. I don't know how many other people will though. http://www.imdb.com/video/user/me703945461/

5. The International (August 15, 2008)

What would have happened if Clive Owen would have been choosen as the new James Bond. Well now we know...sorta. He stars with N Watts in this thriller, enough said. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4189886720/tt0963178
